This really reminds me of a primitive version of the Hunger Games, except that someone steps in before everybody gets killed.

...never would think there was a fandom round this book. sure artist would draw the pigs head on a stick but never would i think of this...awesome. also never really understood the meaning of the stick sharpened at both ends.
The "stick sharpened at both ends" is a reference to what they did with the Lord of the Flies, impaling one end in its head and the other in the ground. This shows the brutality of what they planned to do to Ralph, who indeed felt like a pig being hunted by the savages. So basically, the stick sharpened at both ends represents evil and brutality. 
i figured it out during class, it was a HUGE mind fuck moment. but thanks for clearing the rest up.
